About fund

Hi! My name is Julia and I am the founder of the KI(N)DS foundation. Our history started not long ago, on February 25th, 2022, when I came to Ivano-Frankivsk and decided to create a small online project for children. If I had been told, that this project would grow into a foundation, I would have never believed it. But I understand that everything has organically and dynamically acquired the form that gives children and their parents an opportunity to get free psychological help.

We have already received more than 50 applications, even though this project has just recently kicked off. You cannot even imagine how it is to read the feedback from happy children and their parents. And this is just the beginning.

About project

Individual support for families with children with special educational needs.

This is a project aimed at the comprehensive development of children with special educational needs (with a diagnosis of ASD or autism), focusing on their development, socialization, and comprehensive work with parents or guardians of the child. The project aims to reduce the stigma of children in society and build effective interaction within the family.

Format

Individual support consists of 4 online meetings per month with a psychologist (or behavioral therapist), as well as intermediate weekly consultations with the psychologist (or behavioral therapist) in text mode (analysis and discussion of completed exercises, comments on the implementation of correctional methodological tasks, etc.). The total duration of support is 6 months, but it may vary individually for each family.

Why online

Usually, psychologists work with families on-site, in large cities. However, due to the large-scale invasion, many Ukrainians have moved to villages, towns, and small European cities, making it difficult for them to access psychological services.

Reviews

The first month of online classes we stayed in the occupation. In this difficult time, classes were a piece of normal life and great support for us. When it was heard explosions and shots outside the window we tried to distract the child and calm him down. Then we managed how to get out and the second month of classes was devoted to adaptation and recovery. It is a very difficult time and children are extremely traumatized by the war. In various ways traumatized but all are severely suffered . We are now working for the mental health of our children. Therefore, the psychological support provided by specialists is extremely important. Thank you very much for your professionalism and volunteer help. God bless you!

Classes in the group are very useful. I see that my daughter for these 2 months has become more independent. Also she switched from younger sister to children her age, she is more focused on finishing the game / case she started. I calmed down a bit after the war started, because I have a feeling that the group is safe and there is warm environment for Sofia ) .She remembered that she has classes on Tuesdays and Fridays and when she has been planning meetings with friends in the yard always tell them "after the 2pm because I have zoom class"))) Very grateful to Mariana and Lena for games, time and patience

Anna-Maria was an active member of the group, and that’s why her mental health stabilized and the tension decreased. The child felt comfortable in the lessons, and psychologists had the opportunity to use their knowledge into practice and see further results in group work with children. Thank you a lot and we wish success in further work and implementation of all plans.
